Fir-to be free
Dous- from being stepped on
If sb steps on me, I will automatically feel their weight. That weight is like a burden, something I have to carry or endure.
That burden, even in the form of any concept which stands between the truth and me is a heavy load preventing me from flying as I am being stepped on, held down..
Is Firdous a spiritual realm where the Nafs is free to fly in the light of truth?

One question regarding فردوس
Can you be in hisab and firdaws at the same time?
Because firdaws is when you fled from the stomping. To my understanding you could be in hisab due to lack of ilm Or incorrect knowledge and if you did not misguide anyone then you are not being trampled upon??

"Can you be in hisab and firdaws at the same time?"
The reason why one will end up in hisaab is the lack of the understanding of the MULK, whereas in Firdows you have learnt the mulk.
Simply learn OR master the mulk to go to firdows INSHA ALLAHH

I think not only being stepped on keeps us out of Firdous, but also our faulty Weltanschauung

I think daws has to do with the increasing price, to which
Krish Tendulkar referred. To be free from stomping is to be free from bearing the increasing weight of others misguidance.
To be Malaikah is to be proficient in the mulk. I think it logically stands to reason that might be in firdaws without being of the Malaikah. But also a malak might need to spend time in hisaab to be rehabilitated in the case of erosion of competency in mulk.
To me it seems these states are simultaneously clearly defined linguistically, but also fluid ontologically, as we might experience the stages of development our lord guides us through in life as an earthling.
