Salaamun 3alaykum Dear Toilers!
I continued my toiling on the story of Lut and wanted to share some of my thoughts about it, which need to be proven further of course! So please come up with corrections! I would really appreciate that.
1. They (the Mujrimoon) butchered the Verb "Ataa"
Lets look at the Story of Lut:
(27:54) وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلْفَـٰحِشَةَ وَأَنتُمْ تُبْصِرُون
(27:55) أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ ٱلرِّجَالَ شَهْوَةً مِّن دُونِ ٱلنِّسَآءِ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ تَجْهَلُون
The traditional translations and interpretations butchered this verb in the story of Lut. If you look up all occurences of this verb, you will notice that they translate it in a very strange way to fit the biblical and sexual narrative. It seems as they are trying to impose this story over the Quran.
Remember YT157, where the difference between 'Ataa' and 'Ja'a' was discussed.
'Ataa' is refering to the action of coming or appearing after absence, not necessarily with a mission or for a specific audience.
When it comes to the Ayaat in the Story of Lut they completely twisted this verb.
They are translating it in 27:54 as "commiting the fahisha (which refers to homosexuality for them)" and in 27:55 as "approaching the 'men'" even though it has noting to do with sex! The true meaning in accordance with the methodology could be that the people of Lut came forth with or brought "Ar-Rijaal". We will see what that means...
2. The people of Lut installed intermediaries
(27:55) أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ ٱلرِّجَالَ شَهْوَةً مِّن دُونِ ٱلنِّسَآءِ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ تَجْهَلُون
This Ayah is saying that they brought/came forth with "Ar-Rijal" as intermediaries to the "Nisaa" (MIN DOON AN NISAAI)
We know that Rijal and Nisa are not exclusively men and women. Those who walk can be considered "Rijal" while those who are delayed/postponed can be considered "Nisaa"
What if the people of Lut installed some "Rijal" as intermediaries to the "Nisaa" which prevented them from connecting to Allah?
We see another confirmation in this Ayah:
The expression I highlighted in blue is transliterated as follows:
"A'innakum la ta'toonar rijaala wa taqta'oonas sabeela"
I would translate it as follows:
"Indeed, you bring "Ar-Rijaal" and cut off As-Sabeel"
In the traditional interpretations you will read that they interpret it as a physical way. I am pretty sure that the Sabeel here could be the way to Allah, which was cut off because they installed these intermediaries. This summarizes the story of the Muslim Ummah in the last 1400 years!!!
As I said above, let us seek all self-correction, these are just some speculations which need further proofs and toiling. I would appreciate your comments and corrections!
Salaamun Alaykum,
As I understood from the story of LUT,
the general theme is about toiling.
yeah I agree. It is about the correct way of toiling!
Salamun 3alaykum
أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ ٱلرِّجَالَ شَهْوَةً مِّن دُونِ ٱلنِّسَآءِ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ تَجْهَلُون (27:55)
شَهْوَةً**
ٱلنِّسَآءِ **
تَجْهَلُون**
I also agree with you that the theme is about toiling (not sex) because the (تَجْهَلُون) refers to the abuse of divine lexicons.
However, I am still toiling on the meaning of the word (شَهْوَةً27: 55) and it’s grammatical context; The word (شَهْوَةً) plays a pivotal role in the understanding of (27:54- 55) and (بَنَاتِي 11, 78 ).
The meaning of the word (شَهْوَةً27: 55) as an adjective (حال) in the way of Quran has something to do with (3, 14);
Thus, (27:55) imply that (الغابرين) of (قوم لوط) use (شَهْوَةً) related procedures as in (الشَّهَوَاتِ) (3, 14) to install the divine lexicons for (ٱلرِّجَالَ) instead of (النِّسَاءِ).
This opens a new hypothesis that the (27:55) addresses the phenomenon of corrupting the (divine lexicon) in (قوم لوط) where they paid more attention to the advantaged ones (ٱلرِّجَال) instead of the deprived one (النِّسَاءِ/بَنَاتِي 11, 78 ); just like in (Quran 80: 5-6).
Hypothetically, the verse (27:55) implies a strong reminder for (الساعة) that: The deliberate neglection of some groups because of their misfortune is also (جهل) (بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ تَجْهَلُون).
I have not found evidence of the word (شَهْوَةً27: 55) as (مفعول به) to imply that (قوم لوط) use (النِّسَاءِ) as intermediaries to provide (ٱلرِّجَالَ) access to (شَهْوَةً) as in (الشَّهَوَاتِ) (3, 14) with include the (النِّسَاءِ) themselves!!
This is my humble toiling. I know it is not advisable to share (half-baked/incomplete toiling / سحاب) but your sharing pushed me to ask more questions for certainty and relevance.
I need corrections please. I want to learn toiling.
SA,
Comparison between story of Lut & present day:
54:19-54:23
Rijal/nisaa vs zakar/unthaa
Tajhaloon vs asmaa (made-up labels)
This is just an idea that might add to the above conjecture!
SA
Salaamun alaykum,
yes indeed, the interpretation/translation of 29:29 was grossly butchered unfortunately. Simply applying AL reveals precisely our current situation. Very sad! But, Al hamdu lil Lah for allowing us into his "Noor" through MQ, we understand this Aya and many others to never associate anyone with Allahh in his السَّبِيلَ. Thank you for sharing.
SA.
We were packed up with so many (made-up labels)! That’s why we need to empty our cups wherever it is necessary for the (Asmaa’u Allahi Alhusna) to consolidate in our (Qalb).
