The Word Allahuma and the 5 times prayer

I was just thinking loud and I'm asking for your opinion. If the word Allahhuma is wrong and has the opposite affect, then that is a sign for us to reflect because this word Allahhuma is used only 5 times in Quran and the majority of Muslims nowadays pray 5 times a day and also use this word 5 times a day even at the beginning of the prayer. What I am thinking is, that: Not only the word Allahhuma was misinterpreted and misunderstood but also the 5 times prayers per Day.

"And when they said: Allahhuma! If this is the truth from you, than rain down upon us stones from heaven, or bring us a grievous punishment" 8:32

I mean isn't clear when they said.......

Salaamun Alayikum,

When you read the Aya before and after 8:32 , you will understand better who are “ they”? Allah is telling us what “they” said. The contest here is very important to understanding. It is a recall form Allah.

“ they” in this Ayat are the “rejectors “. They rejected the Truth= Quran because “ they” were polytheists, not good people.

That is my understanding and I pray( Duaa) to Allah to increase me in knowledge.

Salamun Aleykum,

yes for Sure I read the Ayat before. But my thinking that our Ummah use the same way like bani Israel before which used the word Allahuma. That's mean we definitely didn't give to Allahh the eminence which he deserves. May Allahh forgive us, because we was also wrong before and May Allahh guide us to the right path to understand his Ilm better... Also I pray that the majority of moslems will get to know the exact meaning..

Salaamun Alaykum.

I don’t think that the rejectors or the corrupters really have counted how many times the اللّهمّ really appeared in the Quran.

Salaamun Alaykum.

that is why we are seeing the muslims are gradually diminishing in quality.. new reverts have better understanding of the faith than their predecessors.. muslims are moving away from the Quran.. they delve into the fire to the point of no return.. sadly.. this is the truth..

millions of people spend millions of dollars to perform hajj.. but hajj performers are too far from the less fortunate people.. they couldn't care less about others.. spending money on the wrong things.. we should be helping the less fortunate people.. and elevate them..

we feel ashamed when we cant feed rich people.. and couldn't care less the less fortunate are not having any meals..

if not because of some practitioners of Islam still practice selflessness i think the Muslim community is already doomed..

we make dua that more people will come to their sense and follow Quranic path of Siratul Mustaqeem..

If the seerah is to be trusted, during the drafting of Hudaybiyah Treaty, the muslims wanted to use "Bismillahir-Rahmanir-Rahim" as the opening sentence, but the Mecca non-believers disagreed and wanted to use "Bismika-Allahumma". We can presume that the word "allahumma" was already commonly used in pre-islamic Mecca. Fast forward to the period after the passing of Rasulullah pbuh, when people of Madinah and Mecca were busy memorizing and narrating and transmitting the sayings of Rasulullah pbuh, the word "allahumma" must have crept into the narrations of supplications. Vast majority of supplications reported via the narrations begin with "Allahumma" as opposed to all supplications in the Quran which begin with "Rabbana" or "Rabbi", except about 5 or 6 that have been pointed out by MQ.
