Salaamun 3alaykum,

I am a little confused here for the word يَسْرِ in 89:4 (below).

وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَسْرِ

At first glance it looks like to could be related to 'yusr' (ya-sin-ra) (ease of understanding),

but when I search the word on my phone app, it says it is (sin-ra-ya) (which interestingly shares patterns with (alif-sin-ra) so now I'm a little taken aback).

I am just in a little need of help with determining better context.

I apologise if this was a silly question

Salaamun alaykum!

As far as I understand, the first few ayahs of Surah Al-Fajr are about the gradual transition from night to dawn, describing the passing of time during that period. Yasr.

But I want to know, why did you say it could be related to yusr' (ya-sin-ra) (ease of understanding)?
