Questions:
- Given that 'Qarnayn shares a root with 'Qareen', is it possible to interpret 'Dhul Qarnayn' as 'One with Two Qareens'?
- If so, who is the second Qareen?
- Or is it 3issa Ibn Maryam was initially his bad qareen, then according to that hadith he submitted and became another qareen?
- If we stick with 'Qarnayn' to mean 'two lineages', wouldn't it make sense that someone who is (erroneously) known to only have come from one lineage (due to an alleged miracle birth), i.e., 3issa Ibn Maryam, to be labelled as the one with two lineages? Especially when the Quran is constantly exposing that he indeed came from two lineages (mother and father, ail 3imraan Maryam and the Jewish Zakariyya, etc), and al-insaan is made from turaab and inseminated egg, etc.
- yajuj and majuj also make a little sense in context too considering who we already defined them to be, and who 3issa ibn Maryam dealt with in his life
- he gets given the choice to "punish or go with insider insight" (in the story of Dhul Qarnayn when he visits people who aren't sheltered from the 'shams'), and what is the miracle 3issa brings to bani isra3eel? Their insider locution/speech.
Anyways, just a few possible connections as food for thought.
And very curious on Dr Hany's opinion on this.

At first your synthesis of info seemed off to me. Had to read a couple of times to figure out where it was different.
lo and behold! it is 180 degrees off from the interpretation from Dr Hany, and you have used your creative mind to transpose it to a different era.
The first time I heard about the two lineages what came to my mind was that one was from Ishaque and the other from Ya'qub (meaning of the descriptor name Ya'qub - the one from whom many prophets descended).
I have watched it a couple of times, InshaAllah will watch and note it in my own words multiple times to refine or correct my own understanding.
Short answer: Dhul Qarnayn is Muhammad (PBUH).

It is good to come up with a hypothesis.
Here we have a hypothesis that fits into some of the ovservations.
But as Ain Altair explained, there are many observations that are still unexplained (they don't fit the hypothesis).
So, from a methodology POV we cannot validate the hypothesis.
For example, you have the multiple trips.
Second, you have the question of actual actions accomplished by DQ, which we have no Janaah (corroboration) for if you try to claim that DQ is EIM.
And therefore, from a methodology POV you either keep working on it, or you dismiss the hypothesis.
