Do you have some linguistic references? I really would appreciate how you came to that conclusion. Honestly, I like the idea but it lacks a convincing argument.
How is it different from the word „Al-Bahr“? How is it related to As-Samaawaat? Are there Ayat that confirm the meaning?
For example the Tayr fly down with Janah. Do they fly down from Samaa? Or is there another terminology used for? If it means great body of water, is it something within the hadid of the meanings of Samaa?
Such questions provide the ways to find convincing arguments.

Words change meaning over time, e.g., "awful" means "awe-inspiring."
Does that mean you fall from the sky if you fall from a plane?
anzal maa min Samaa
Rain falls from clouds (not the sky), It's obvious alLAh is defining clouds as the samaa A deeper look into what is a cloud, and where clouds come from, leads to Oceans
The statement that water falls from the ocean is 100. every way you look at it. The Quran describes samaa with life. This is not referring to the lifeless sky or anything further away up.
They are related — take a look---
maa---water drops---guidance
Samaa--the layered body of water-- abstact understanding First and foremost we understand that maa means water (small tiny water) before we can understand it means guidance.
2. Samaa has life--- sky no life 1:Samaa releases water. sky absorbs water These 2 points do not apply to the sky (heaven) but rather contradictory Wait till you see my next disclosure.
